What payment methods are available to me?
There are a number of ways you can pay your TALK account:
Direct Debit - Simply download this Direct Debit Form, complete* and post to:

Cheque.
Credit Card - We will contact you for details or include them with your secure online application.
Internet Banking - National Bank, Westpac, BNZ, ASB, Bank Direct and KiwiBank all support this payment option.
Do I have to sign any long term contracts?
No, you do not have to sign any long term contracts or agreements but your use of TALK’s services is subject to your agreement to our Terms and Conditions. You can change or cancel whenever you like.
What areas of New Zealand do you cover?
TALK is available nationwide.

Do I keep my current phone number/s if I become a TALK customer?
Yes, the only thing that changes is that you receive a monthly itemised statement for your tolls from TALK .
You still receive an account from telecom for line rental and telecom services like call minder you may subscribe to.
If I am a Direct dial customer, but want to use Telecom to make a call, how do I access their network?
If you dial 059 as a prefix to the number you are dialing, you will be using Telecom's network instead of TALK.
How do I know if I am a TALK Direct dial customer?
We will send you a TALK welcome pack when your application to be connected with TALK has been processed by Telecom so that you can begin to dial through TALK without using our access codes.
What do I do if I have received an invoice from another toll provider in addition to my TALK Direct dial account invoice?
Although this doesn't often happen, sometimes when Telecom is processing the Direct dial application an error occurs and the calls that you make appear on another providers account. This can be remedied by phoning one of our Customer Service Representatives now on 09 965 0096.
Do I pay for local calls if I become a TALK direct dial customer?
No, local call are free to all residential customers in New Zealand.
If I dial an area code before ringing a local number will I be charged for a toll call?
YES-CAUTION: When dialing a local number please ensure the area code is not dialed. This can occur with pre programmed faxes and redialing from caller id displays. These calls are treated as a toll call by Telecom and charged to TALK.

How do I make national calls and/or mobile calls using TALK’s access codes?
All you have to do is replace the first "0" with 0548
For example, if you were in Christchurch calling the Auckland number 09 358 5067,
you would dial 0548 9 358 5067.
How do I make international calls using TALK phone access codes?
All you have to do is replace the "00" with 0549
For example, if you were calling a Sydney Australia number 00 61 3 358 5067,
you would dial 0549 61 3 358 5067.
